Didn’t work for me.

Original
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4);

I’ve tried both of these (below) on two different WAPro themes with same result.
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1);

Result is about 1/4 of the background image being clear (top down), the rest has same shade as original.
