Be very careful with the 4.8 ! On a real estate mu website based on winning-agent-pro the featured communities widget got completely screwed up. In the existing version the article gets a lot of classes like wap-community etc. but after the update the only class left on article was ‘entry’ …
After I reverted to 4.7.5. everything was normal again… Had to do that quickly since the lay-out was distorted because of the missing classes etc so I could not investigate the exact cause.
I dreaded the update as I expected to get problems as I often use the text-widget as a Swiss Army Knife, which now gets very blunt when html is getting stripped on some occasions.There was a small period of time when updating Genesis (not WordPress!) created an issue for some of the Genesis Featured Posts widgets (Communities are a fork of the Genesis Featured Posts widget) This is fixed with Genesis 2.5.2.
WordPress 4.8 could introduce some issues if you use HTML in your text widgets. This is because that widget was changed to a rich text widget. You can read more about this and get a link to download the old (classic) text widget here:
