ParticipantI would like to display 5-10 of my recent posts with title, thumbnail and excerpt on the homepage. I tried putting a widget in the community section, but it is way too wide and I don’t want them in my footer. I tried at least 10 different widgets to see if I could find something that would display them property and take up the space, but no success.
Any recommendations?

ParticipantCan you share a link to your site?
We had a forum user that did that a while back, here is the link…you don’t have to have the images that large. It’s a start:
Here is the link to the forum thread:

ParticipantHi Ginger – Here is the site I’m playing around with http://sellingcentralpalmbeach.com/ and my goal is for it to be similar to or better than this: http://wellingtonhometeam.com/
I already tried putting the posts in the community section like the example you shared, but I didn’t like how it looked, too spread out for my liking. I have it in the footer right now, which the width is fine, but I don’t want 5-10 posts being in the footer on every single page.

ParticipantHi there, just following up. I checked in with Sridhar and he sent me a widget with some suggested settings that can get you close to what you would like. His site is chocked full of tips and tutorials btw: http://sridharkatakam.com/
He used the Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget which I had not tried before.
It has many of the same settings as other featured posts widgets with the addition of a drop-down for choosing a Column Class. I chose one half, to get two rows of posts. I put this widget in the Communities widget and it looks good. To use you’ll want to tweak how much content you’d like to show to fit more, I chose 200 characters and I chose the thumbnail size for the featured images.
Also, when viewing on mobile you’ll want to adjust the padding…you can use that other forum post for those settings, should be the same area in CSS.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantTHANK YOU SO MUCH GINGER! Ironically I already had that plugin installed, but had no clue it could do that. I greatly appreciate your time, this is exactly what I was looking for.
