ParticipantSuddenly the Featured 3 box displays smaller than Featured 1 & 2 (not as tall). Most likely operator error but I can’t find the solution to make the bottom of the box line up with the others. It was fine for a while until I changed the title in the Genesis-Featured Page:
Suggestions?

MemberHeya Mike,
Try installing/running the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and see if that fixes the problem. If those images were already in your media library prior to installing the Winning Agent theme, the thumbnails won’t be at the right size, but that plugin should fix it.

ParticipantCarrie,
I activate “regenerate” and removed/reinstalled the “featured image” but the problem remains. For some reason the Featured 3 “box” has shrunk. I’d guess that the image I’m using is not the problem. It’s the “box” that covers the image.
Thanks for the help.

MemberHey Mike,
After you activate the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, be sure to “run” it. To do that, go to Tools > Regenerate Thumbnails > Regenerate All Thumbnails.Cheers,

ParticipantCarrie,
GREAT customer service.
I had indeed, failed to “regenerate”. Unfortunately, the opaque box remains cut off at the bottom even after “regenerating” and checking the site using a Google “incognito” window to prevent pulling a cache from my previous visits.

MemberHey Mike,
Just circling back around and realized I never responded. I took a peek at http://fiftyplusventures.com/ and it looks like you’ve modified the styles on the three Home Featured boxes to have more height. Those areas are a sort of finely tuned orchestra when it comes to matching the image size with the box size, accounting for padding, image positioning etc.
A couple of things to try:
Try the
overflow:hidden
on this section of CSS:.home-featured-1,
.home-featured-2,
.home-featured-3,
.home-listings .featured-listings .entry { … }Adjust the positing from the
top
element on this selector:.home-featured .featuredpage img.entry-image

ParticipantCarrie:
Whatever I did was unintentional. (I didn’t consciously attempt to increase the size of the 3 boxes). I’d be happy to go back to the default settings. Your message (above) is way over my head. Is there an easy way to return things to the ‘default’ without getting into the CSS weeds?
If not, can we set a convenient time to discuss this during a ‘hangout’? Or perhaps you could send me some screenshots of the steps involved in correcting things?

MemberHey Mike,
No easy way to turn back the clock, so to speak, without getting into the CSS.
The simplest way to check what you currently have against the original theme stylesheet is to upload both into diffchecker.com and it will highlight any differences. Should give you an idea if there’s something in there you didn’t mean to do. 🙂
Since you’re wanting to tackle customizations yourself, you might enjoy some basic CSS courses to get you comfortable. And you might even start to have fun… Here are a couple of suggestions:
http://www.codecademy.com/ (free)
http://www.lynda.com (paid, but that links to a free 7 day trial)If you don’t care a hill of beans about it, the next simplest thing would be to tweet using the #genesiswp or head over to the Google+ Genesis community forum and see if you can buy an hour or two from somebody to just take care of it for you. If you go that route, cc: me on it so I can help spread the word.
Cheers,
Carrie
