Winning Agent Staff
KeymasterWe recommend the following plugins. This list will be updated as we implement and test various plugins with the Winning Agent Pro theme.
The following plugins are used on the Winning Agent Pro theme Demo:
AgentPress Listings – The AgentPress Listings plugin uses custom post types, custom taxonomies, and widgets to create a listings management system.
Akismet – Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.
Simple Social Icons – Simple Social Icons is an easy to use, customizable way to display icons that link visitors to your various social profiles. With it, you can easily choose which profiles to link to, customize the color and size of your icons, as well as align them to the left, center, or right, all from the widget form (no settings page necessary!).
Gravity Forms – Gravity Forms for WordPress is a full featured contact form plugin that features a drag and drop interface, advanced notification routing, lead capture, conditional logic fields, multi-page forms, pricing calculations and the ability to create posts from external forms. - August 8, 2018 at 1:06 pm #9176

ParticipantHi – My question is whether Agentpress listings will work with WordPress 5.0 with Gutenberg enabled? Also, will WinningAgent Pro need modifications? Thank you.

KeymasterThe AgentPress Listings plugin does not belong to us; it’s a StudioPress plugin, so you’ll need to ask your question on the plugin support forums.
I would not use Gutenberg on a listings page at this time.Gutenberg should work OK with Winning Agent Pro and Agent Focused Pro for regular posts and pages.
But until you are sure they will work with your pages and posts, we recommend that you use one of the “Classic Text” editors, especially one that will allow you to turn Gutenberg on for certain posts and off for others.

ParticipantThanks. I have asked about the AgentPress plugin on a WordPress.org forum. If I get an answer I will post it here since many of us are using that plugin with WinningAgent. I am setting up a test site to try out Gutenberg with WinningAgent and Agentpress. From what I’ve read, I did not get the impression that one could turn Gutenberg on and off, at least for new posts. It does treat existing posts and pages, with their shortcodes, as one block of html, though, so those pages can be kept that way or converted to Gutenberg blocks. We’ll see if Gutenberg renders AgentPress’s shortcodes appropriately. Thanks again.

KeymasterThere are plugins to use to turn Gutenberg on and off for specific posts or pages.
We’ll wait to see which one is going to be well-supported before recommending one. - August 8, 2018 at 3:17 pm #9183

ParticipantI checked back with the AgentPress plugin forum and found the moderator Nick Cernis replied as follows:
@charlesjenks AgentPress Listings already works as is with Gutenberg in our tests. If you encounter issues, please feel free to open a new forum topic.

ParticipantAgentPress has been working with WordPress updates but had a problem today. The map feature of AgentPress is not working. I have had to paste the code into the text field (classic editor) myself. Not a show stopper but interesting. Hope the rest of it continues to work. Comments?

ParticipantShoulda looked first. It is a known issue, with a temporary fix.

KeymasterYes, thank you for posting that link, Charles.
Please ask any questions in the plugin thread.
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/property_map-embeds-not-saving/We don’t have the opportunity to try the solutions, as we’ve never seen it on sites we manage.
If you aren’t able to add the map embed code into your editor, instead of the plugin map field, we recommend adding the word Map and making it link to the Google map page.

ParticipantThe fix did not work for me. AgentPress will update and there is a plugin that does fix just this problem (see link). For us, we’ll just paste the map code at the end of the text field. That’s just as easy as pasting it into the map box for us. Thanks.
