If you’re tired of the same-old marketing techniques – and you’re ready to grow your business this year – we have some unique ways to get more leads. Go beyond the bulk mailer and the cold calls. It’s time to discover a client base you never dreamed possible.

How to Get More Leads as a Real Estate Agent

Finding clients is perhaps the most challenging part of being a real estate agent. However, there are many creative ways to get more leads. Below are five examples of how thinking outside the box could increase your business.

1. Embrace Social Media

Social media is a necessary evil, especially for a high-visibility career field like real estate.

Social Media MarketingIf you aren’t embracing apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, you could be missing out on big opportunities. These platforms allow you to connect directly with potential clients. You can join city-specific networking groups, neighborhood sales and interest sites, and niche-specific communities.

Social media also allows live video feeds, where you can create endless streams of media for your ideal client. Do a video walkthrough of a home you’re selling, answer questions about buying or selling real estate, or show viewers around cities in your area.

If you want to boost your page’s performance, many of these apps offer paid advertising that uses data to help you connect to your desired demographic.

These platforms allow you to show off your expertise, all with little to no cost.

2. Use a CRM Technology Program

If you haven’t tried a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program yet, now is the time to start. CRM is an all-in-one software that allows you to connect with past clients, find new clients, and maintain relationships with everyone in your contact list.

Think of CRM as a database on steroids. For real estate agents, CRM programs can help communicate with past clients, search for connections based on specific demographics, and customize your marketing strategy for your contacts.

There are many great options on the market, but we have compiled our favorites here.

3. Get Involved in the Community

One of the best and most organic ways to get more leads is to be more involved in your community. For some, that might mean volunteering with a local nonprofit, partnering with a local high Hands togetherschool sports team, or working with other community organizations to serve your neighbors.

Getting involved not only gets your name into the public sphere but also shows your willingness to serve others. Volunteering and community involvement isn’t just good for business. It’s also a rewarding way to contribute back to your city.

4. Work with Divorcees

While divorce isn’t a topic many of us care to talk about, it’s an everyday reality in our country. For many divorcing couples, splitting up the family home is one of the most stressful times in the process.

As a real estate agent, divorcing couples represent an opportunity for a new client base. Often, these clients need specialized real estate advice from a caring professional. If you’re the type that can handle conflict well, this might be an ideal niche for your business.

Partnering with a divorce attorney is one way to build this client base. You can also break into this specialized area through local advertising or – you guessed it – social media. Find local divorce resources and support groups and let them know you are available for real estate help if and when clients need it.

5. Provide Free Real Estate Advice Online

Everyone loves free, especially when it comes to valued advice from a real estate agent. Get more leads by monitoring local chat groups and offering free real estate advice.

Sites like Reddit, Quora, and other media outlets are a great place to connect with potential clients. On these platforms, potential buyers and sellers might ask generalized questions to the entire community. As a real estate agent, you are uniquely qualified to offer insight and advice.

Of course, you should always add your name and contact information with these answers. This shows that you are a trusted expert and helps get your name into the community. Answering real estate-related questions online is a great way to connect with potential buyers and sellers in your area.
