At one point or another, all real estate agents have asked, “how can I build my real estate business faster?” Sure, much of it is time and experience, but is there a way to increase sales and build a business in less time?
We think so. And we’re sharing five ways to build a better real estate business.
Keeping Up With a Changing Market
A year ago, we wouldn’t have had the “how can I build my real estate business faster” conversation because the market was on fire. In 2021, nearly every real estate agent I know had more business than they knew what to do with.
But that was last year. Now, the tides are beginning to shift. Sure, it’s still a seller’s market, and there is plenty of business to be had. But it’s not the red-hot, fast-paced real estate environment of last summer.
Now, homes are sitting on the market longer. We’re seeing more price drops. And fewer transactions mean fewer sales for real estate agents. If you’re looking for ways to boost your business in this cooling real estate climate, we’ve got you covered.
How Can I Build My Real Estate Business Faster?
Veterans of the real estate game still have plenty of business these days. But both veterans and newcomers are struggling. In the past two years, we’ve all had a bit of housing market whiplash, from the pandemic to the major sales boom of 2021 to the verge of recession in 2022.
All that change means real estate agents are looking for new ways to connect with clients and close more deals.
5 Tricks to Better Real Estate Business
Building a successful real estate business takes time. But there are a few ways to build your real estate business faster.
1. Be Intentional About Networking
If you want to build your real estate business faster, networking is the key. Start researching real estate groups in your area: meet-ups, local and national conferences, professional development groups, and any other gathering where you can meet new people.
Not everyone likes networking. But when it comes to expanding your business, you might just have to fake it ‘til you make it.
2. Increase Your Social Media Presence
Like it or not, social media is the way to get yourself noticed. If you’re not active on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms, it’s time to up your game.
Social media is the easiest, quickest, and least expensive way to reach a large audience. Why spend hours sending emails or making phone calls when you can deliver the same message online in just a few minutes?

3. Update Your Website
If your website hasn’t been updated since the pandemic began (or maybe it’s been even longer), now is the time to pay it some attention.
Your website isn’t just the face of your brand. As a real estate agent, it can also be a place to showcase your listings, educate your clients, and bring out some of your personality. A great website will increase your sales and help you build your business faster.

4. Ask for Referrals
If your business is a little sluggish, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Consult your CRM software (click here if you have no idea what that is) and review your list of past clients. Spend an afternoon writing each one a personal letter, asking for referrals. Ask them to share your name with just one family member or friend who is buying or selling a home.
One effective way to encourage referrals is to provide an incentive. Consider giving past clients a gift card for every person they refer that buys or sells a home with you.
Word of mouth is truly the best advertising.
5. Consider a Niche
Sometimes, scaling down is the best way to scale up.
When you niche down – that is, you choose a particular area of focus – you become more immersed in one specific area. For instance, niching down to help military families can give you access to an entire community of buyers and sellers. Working with retirees establishes you as the expert in that area of real estate.
If you want to build your real estate business faster, consider finding your niche and digging deep into that community.
